Professional Profile

James Milner, CCIM, is the President & Owner of Appalachian Commercial Real Estate, LLC. He has been involved in Commercial Real Estate in the High Country area since 2008. His firm provides commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, consulting, and appraisal services throughout western North Carolina. He has worked with a broad spectrum of clients, from local investors to national franchises.


Along with being a licensed NC Real Estate Broker, James is also a NC Certified General Appraiser.  


James served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina CCIM Chapter for nine years, including President of the NC CCIM Chapter in 2022. He is a past chair of the Professional Standards Committee and the 2024 Chair of the Designation Committee. From 2007 to 2017, he served on the Town of Boone Board of Adjustment. He has previously served on several local and national boards. His interests include all matters #CRE tech and social media.


James is a member of Boone United Methodist Church and is married to Catharine Milner. Together, they have two boys, Peter and Ian.
