Russ Martin was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in October of 1978. He is the son of Claudia and Wayne Martin of Little Rock. He is also the grandson of the late Rose (Piazza) & Russell Martin of Little Rock and the grandson of the late Pauline and Olen Johnson of Searcy.

Russ graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1997 and later received his Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from the University of Arkansas in 2001. He then worked two years with Wells Fargo Financial Acceptance in Fort Worth, Texas where he was a Credit Manager. Russ went back to the U of A to attend graduate school and obtained a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics in 2004. His first banking job in Arkansas was with Arvest Bank in Little Rock. He spent about 5 years with Twin City Bank/Centennial Bank, and in March 2011 joined First Security Bank as a Vice President in commercial lending.  In September 2014, he joined Relyance Bank to help establish the Little Rock market.  In 2017, he graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.  

Russ has served as the Chairman of the City of Little Rock's Community Housing Advisory Board, which is a Little Rock Board of Directors appointed board. He has served as the President of the Downtown Little Rock Kiwanis Club and was Treasurer for the club in 2008. He has served as the Treasurer and President of the Arkansas CCIM Chapter in 2012 and 2013, respectively.  He served as a member of the Board of Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas in 2010-2011.  He has also served as Treasurer and member of the Board of Governors, Finance Committee Chair, and member of the Four-Ball Committee at Pleasant Valley Country Club.  He is an active member at Fellowship Bible Church. Russ enjoys outdoor activities like duck hunting and golf and can often be seen cheering on the Razorbacks at home football games. Russ and his wife, Emily, have been married nineteen years and have one daughter and one son.
